Kansas City Young Matrons Host T.A.K.E. Defense Sand Volleyball Tournament

Kansas City, Mo. (June, 2010) – The Kansas City Young Matron’s (KCYM) Gala Underwriting Committee is thrilled to announce a fun, new fundraising event planned for Saturday, August 14, designed to engage the younger community as it supports its 2011 Gala beneficiary,   The Ali Kemp Education Foundationʹs T.A.K.E. Defense. This event is in addition to the bi‐annual Gala set for January 29, 2011 at the Kemper Museum of Modern Art.

Saturday, August 14, KCYM will be hosting a Sand Volleyball Tournament located at Volleyball Beach, 13105 Holmes Road. It is a great way for Ali Kemp’s contemporaries to participate, support the cause, honor Ali and have some fun!  In addition, a self‐defense class will be held from 6pm to 8pm adjacent to Volleyball Beach.  The class is free of charge however donations are welcome. Coed teams will compete in either a Recreation or Competitive level bracket and prizes will be awarded.

“We are thrilled to have the support of the KCYM members for this event along with the support of Q104, Mix 93.3 and Volleyball Beach,” says Roger Kemp. “What a great way to add fun to our efforts of empowering women in our very own community.”
